After retrofitting, the control system consists of an Omron/Delta Tau CNC controller with Power PMac, an industrial PC with Windows 10 operating system, a drive with absolute encoder system, and a modern soft PLC with I/O and safety area. All components communicate via the EtherCat system with COE protocol.

The original servo drives are replaced by Omron drive controllers with Hyperface absolute encoders. This eliminates the need for all mechanical reference, limit, and emergency stop switches. These systems can also replace stepper motor systems at your request or as needed.

In order to bring the operational safety of a “retrofit” machine up to today’s standards, only certified safety switches, zone monitoring devices, and safety PLC systems are used.
